The B2net’s season finished with a Soapstars team defeating a Chesterfield legends side 5-4 in front of a whopping 3,445 crowd that looks set to have raised a five figure sum for the three charities involved.

Former Spireites & Millers striker Phil Walker, the match organiser, was overwhelmed: “It’s phenomenal and I can’t thank people enough for showing their support today for three great causes.”

A delighted Jamie Walker, Phil’s son whose own cancer scare six years ago prompted an annual match said: “It was an incredible response and thanks also to Chesterfield FC for their great help.”

Amongst the scorers were Bob Newton and Andy Morris, whilst 61-year-old Ernie Moss played the full 90 minutes.
