John Sheridan will be hoping to add a goalkeeper to his squad ahead of Yeovil Town’s weekend visit.
With Tommy Lee still recovering from a groin injury, Greg Fleming has been the sole keeper for the last couple of league games. Fleming, 25, had a tough start to his Spireites first team career but, in the last couple of games, has done little wrong.
However there is no senior cover at all in Chesterfield’s number so with Lee still a couple of weeks off fitness, an extra body is essential.
Centre half Simon Ford, whose knee problems have been likened to those experienced by Spurs’ Ledley King, could be fit to return for the match against League One’s bottom side.
Jamie Lowry, who has not started a first team game in over two years, could also come into Sheridan’s thinking. The midfielder, who was out with a cruciate ligament injury, returned to the squad before breaking a toe, but is fit again having played a number of games in the reserves.
Utility man Dwayne Mattis, recovered from an ankle injury, is also hoping for a recall after being on the bench a couple of times in recent games.
