One of Chesterfield’s 2016/17 loanees has been released by his parent club.

Reece Brown, who was sent back to Birmingham City after a couple of ‘incidents,’ will not be offered a new deal by the Championship club.

Spireites boss Gary Caldwell was disappointed with Brown’s spell at the Proact and cut it short.

The 21-year-old made just two substitute appearances for Town after signing on January’s transfer deadline day.

He provoked the ire of Spireites supporters with a tweet accompanying a picture of a graze on his head after the club’s bitterly disappointing 2-1 defeat at home to Bury.
