Whilst the snow will have hampered Spireites’ preparations ahead of the short trip to Derby on Saturday, boss Paul Cook will have another problem to solve in his quest to make Round Five.

Steve McLaren’s Rams made it through by scoring a last gasp penalty to beat non-league Southport - but he selected a much changed side for that game, making it all but impossible for Cook to determine the make-up of his hosts.

Premier League chasing County beat Leeds United 2-0 in the game before the cup tie and their manager made nine changes to the starting line-up for the FA Cup.

Only defenders Jake Buxton and Richard Keogh started both games though the eleven that started against Southport included the likes of ex-Spireite Jamie Ward, Craig Bryson and Paul Coutts as well as Leon Best.

Mason Bennett, who had a loan spell at the Proact last season, is fit again after injury and was sub last time out.

Chesterfield’s U18s lost out in their FA Youth Cup Fourth Round tie, narrowly losing 1-0 to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
