After spending a month on the sidelines at Sheffield United, Chris Porter was understandably itching to get back on to the pitch.
The forward had featured in five of the first eight games this season for David Weir’s men but has fallen out of favour of late at Bramall Lane, prompting him to seek first team opportunities elsewhere.
And, when the call came from Chesterfield, the 29-year-old jumped at the chance to team up with Paul Cook’s League Two leaders.
He said: “I think I’ve done well in the games I’ve played in at Sheffield United. I think I should be involved there but that’s the manager’s opinion.”
