Spireites travel to MK Dons tomorrow searching for a first win of the season.
A last gasp goal earned Dons a 2-2 opening day draw at home to Hartlepool. Since then, three wins in league and cup, two of them to clean sheets, have made it a great start for Karl Robinson’s side.
The home side will be without ex Owls midfielder Darren Potter, he picked up two yellows and was dismissed in stoppage time in the midweek 1-0 win over Yeovil Town. Home town player Adam Chicksen looks set to cover.
Milton Keynes born Mark Randall will be desperate to play for Chesterfield but he’s been struggling with a slight hip problem and played only 45 minutes in the midweek reserves win against Notts County.
International clearance is yet to be confirmed for new signing Alex Mendy but it’s expected to be received in time for the French winger to be available. Mendy played for an hour in the second string and, though not fully match fit, could well come into contention for a start.
Simon Ford (thigh) remains sidelined but Jamie Lowry is fully fit and available but having played the full 90 for the reserves, he’s most likely to be on the bench.
Having been beaten 2-0 at home to Preston on Tuesday, John Sheridan is desperate to find a winning formula but without new faces in attack, tomorrow looks a big ask for the full set of points.
Jordan Bowery missed a shed full of chances against Notts on Wednesday and is unlikely to start, though Scott Boden could be drafted in to action for a team that’s becoming increasingly anxious about its short comings.
