Leaders bid to get back on victory trail

Have your say

Spireites visitors this weekend, Aldershot Town, have another game to squeeze into their schedule.

Their midweek home game with Barnet was abandoned at half time because of fog with the game standing at one each.

Following two draws, John Sheridan is determined to bag a maximum, but expects a tough game: “It doesn’t matter who you play, results in this division are very hard to predict. Aldershot have got one or two players, Wade Small’s there, and they can be a threat on their day. We’ll give them respect but we’re at home and we’ve got to win the game now.”

The draw at Stockport was achieved without Jack Lester and Gregor Robertson (both hamstring) as well as Simon Ford (knee) and the manager is sweating on their fitness: “We’l re still assessing them. They’re three big players for us who’ve been playing well but the lads that came in for them also did well.” Raider Dean Morgan though is still unavailable due to his ankle injury: “Morgan’s another two weeks yet, he’s running now but still two weeks away.”

Scott Boden (ankle) is fit again and was on the bench at Edgeley Park and could come into contention for a rare start. Leading scorer Craig Davies, with just one goal in eight and none in his last five games, will be hoping to get back into scoring form whilst Deane Smalley, scorer of five goals since Davies’s last, could well get his first B2net start having only made the starting 11 in away games.
