Jack leads fitness boost for Spireites

Striker Jack Lester’s recovery from a broken arm is ahead of schedule.

The talismanic Spireites front man underwent an operation to repair the bad fracture around six weeks ago and a recent X-Ray has confirmed the bones are knitting together well. His next X-Ray will be in around four weeks and, should that go well, he may be allowed to return to full contact training.

Lester has been able to maintain full fitness training, only contact based training has been avoided, so it shouldn’t take too long for him to be available to the first team after his return to first team training ground duty.

Fellow long term injury victim Gregor Robertson (Achilles) is expected to return to full training in a couple of weeks. He’s been running well and his calf muscle is returning to normal after his long lay-off.

Keeper Tommy Lee has returned to full training after his groin muscle injury and is in line for a return to action for the weekend home clash with Hartlepool United.

Midfielders Derek Niven, Dwayne Mattis and Jamie Lowry are fit, if not match fit, but could be in contention for selection for the Hartlepool game as John Sheridan looks to halt a run of four straight League One defeats.
