CHESTERFIELD put in one of their best displays of the season to easily beat Wycombe at the B2net
Wembley hero Craig Westcarr scored in the first half before efforts from Belgian Franck Moussa, Frenchman Alex Mendy and youngster Jordan Bowery gave Spireites their best win of the season. The victory keeps the slender safety thread in-tact for at least another five days.
Westcarr struck the opener, from just inches out, after ex Wanderers loanee Moussa’s corner was initially nodded down by Juan. Moments later only a superb tackle from teenager Antony Stewart, who in just his 4th pro game has plenty of scouts watching, denied him another goal. Stewart picked up an injury for his efforts and soon was subbed.
Scott Boden came on after the break and was immediately involved in Spireites’ second, hit from just inside the box by Moussa.
And if that wasn’t enough, Mendy slipped beyond Marvin McCoy and cut in from the left to score a fine individual goal. Juan had a header from a corner blocked on the line and a shot charged down as Spireites sought to add to their tally.
Twenty year-old Bowery banged in another fine goal, cutting inside before delivering an angled shot for his 10th of the season.
