Spireites host Oldham Athletic this afternoon, looking to be the first team to beat them in 11 games.
Manager Paul Cook said: “Every game is a hard game in this league and we are coming up against an Oldham side that play attractive football, and Lee Johnson is doing a fantastic job there.
“They’ve got lots of good players and a good way of playing. We’re looking forward to the game because we have a good pitch, a good set of fans, and by the time Oldham leave us, we would like to think that they’ll know that they’ve been in a game.”
Cook added: “Oldham have some good players and you don’t go winning and drawing ten games if you are not a good side. They went to Peterborough and weren’t beaten, they went to Swindon and weren’t beaten, and they only lost one-nil at Preston.”
The game will also see a return to Chesterfield of Tommy Wright, the former Spireites assistant manager.
His former boss said: “Lee is obviously backed by Tommy who is going to be coming back here as their assistant manager and I think he deserves a fantastic reception. When John Sheridan and Tommy were at the club there were some good times, including a trip to Wembley and a promotion campaign. Tommy is one of the good people in football.”
