Wembley winner and successful Chesterfield loanee Franck Moussa has been released from his contract at Leicester City.
However the Belgian is expected to be out of reach financially for John Sheridan’s Chesterfield, though the fans would love to see him back at the B2net.
Additionally, the central midfielder is much more likely to be courted by teams higher up the league tier after his memorable four goals in 10 games with the Spireites.
Sheridan is still seeking four players to complete his squad with a central midfielder being high on the agenda and the club is hoping to get at least one of that number signed up before the end of the Bank Holiday weekend.
A central defender is a priority too following the signings of striker Marc Richards and keeper Richard O’Donnell.
