Just because the season is over, it doesn’t mean the fun has to stop for Chesterfield FC fans.

A victory parade is being planned for Monday through the town.

A coach carrying the players is expected to leave the Proact Stadium at 6pm, arriving at the Town Hall at 6.30pm.

The team will appear on the town hall balcony followed by a civic reception.

Meanwhile fans are already celebrating their team’s promotion to League 1 by snapping up season tickets.

Ticket office manager Karen Wood said: “We’re delighted with the amount of fans who’ve bought season tickets so far; it’s noticeable there has been an increased number of new season ticket holders.”

Fans who buy season tickets by the ‘early bird’ deadline of May 16 can make a saving of up to £169 on match ticket prices.

And there have also been celebrations behind-the-scenes at the club.

Sam Morsy was named the Player of the Year at this week’s Player of the Year awards night.

The Players’ Player of the Year award went to Gary Roberts while Eoin Doyle won the Goal of the Season award for his effort against Leeds United in the Capital One Cup.

Zoe Edge was named Fan of the Year.
