Chesterfield have sacked manager Dean Saunders following today's defeat to Swindon Town.
The 4-0 loss was the Spireites fourth reverse on the spin and the club's board have moved to make a change in management with Saunders having only taken over in the summer following the departure of Paul Cook.
Assistant Brian Carey has also left.
There was no full statement from the club, but the website did state: "Chairman Dave Allen thanked the managerial pair for their efforts, adding: "We will not be rushed into making a decision on a new manager."
An interim management team will take over while Mr Allen searches for a permanent replacement and that will be announced this week.
Chesterfield are currently four points off the relegation places, this coming after making the play offs last season.
However, Saunders has had to deal with a raft of departures with key players from that squad leaving in the summer.
