With Jimmy Ryan’s signature in the bag, Paul Cook will be looking to strengthen his midfield even further.

Former Sligo Rovers player Richie Ryan, no relation to this week’s new face, is believed to be interesting Spireites.

The 28 year old began his career with Sunderland before taking in Scunthorpe United, Boston United and Belgian club Royal Antwerp. He played for Cook in his native Ireland at Sligo before switching to Scotland last year. He won three cup competitions with Cook and was voted the Irish PFA’s Player of the Year in 2010.Cook is also seeking a left sider as well as a centre half.
