Chesterfield FC sponsor pulls funding

A Derbyshire-based company has pulled its sponsorship of Chesterfield FC.

Fitting company HTM Products has stated it has withdrawn its support of the League One club “in light of recent events”.

It comes in the week of Chesterfield’s signing of controversial figure Ched Evans on Monday.

The former Sheffield United and Wales striker had a rape conviction quashed earlier this year and will have a retrial in October.

A post on the HTM Products Derbyshire LTD Facebook page stated on Thursday evening: “In light of recent events, HTM products has ceased all sponsorship arrangements with Chesterfield football club. Jon Knapp-Managing Director.”

HTM Products has an office in Chesterfield and is described as a “well established family owned and run business” on its website.

The company had sponsored Chesterfield FC for six years.

HTM Products declined to comment.

Chesterfield FC declined to comment when contacted by the Derbyshire Times.
