Chesterfield confirm Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester City XI friendlies

Chesterfield have confirmed that Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester City will send teams to the Proact this summer.

The friendly against the Owls will take place on Saturday 16th July at 1pm.

And Premier League champions Leicester City are to visit on Tuesday 2nd August, as reported by the Derbyshire Times earlier this month.

Leicester are due in Stockholm a day later to face Barcelona, which suggests the game against Chesterfield won’t feature first team stars like Jamie Vardy or Riyad Mahrez.

The third home friendly of the summer is Shane Nicholson’s testimonial against Derby County on Tuesday 26th July.

Chesterfield are to send a squad to Matlock Town on Tuesday 19th July to take part in the Autoworld Stoneacre Cup.

And the Spireites will also visit Ilkeston on Saturday 23rd July and Buxton on Saturday 30th July.
