Chelsea wary of Italian Job

Have your say

Chelsea have admitted they face a tough test after being drawn against Napoli, who lie fifth in Serie A, in the last 16 of the Champions league

“It will be difficult,” said club secretary David Barnard. “Napoli were in the same group as Man City and Man City are no longer with us so that has some bearing on quality of Napoli.

Arsenal, knocked out by Barcelona in the last two seasons, face AC Miland and will take the confidence from a 2-0 quarter-final victory over Milan at the San Siro three years ago when they face the Italians in the last eight.

“It’s probably the pick of the round,” said Arsenal club secretary David Miles. “There were probably other teams we would have preferred but the last time we played them in the knockout stage, in 07-08, we actually went through”

n Round of 16 draw: Lyon v APOEL, Napoli v Chelsea,

AC Milan v Arsenal, Basel v Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen v Barcelona, CSKA Moscow v Real Madrid, Zenit St Petersburg v Benfica, Marseille v Inter Milan.

The first legs will take place on February 14/15 or 21/22 while the return fixtures are scheduled for March 6/7 or 13/14.
