Charlton came from behind at Bury to keep up the pressure on MK Dons at the top of League One.

Shaker striker Ryan Lowe continued his insatiable start to the season, netting a 25-yard free-kick after Michael Morrison had fouled him. However, Lowe’s 100th Bury appearance ended in disappointment as Charlton secured a 2-1 victory at Gigg Lane.

Paul Hayes equalised for the Addicks, before Johnnie Jackson secured three points by converting Dale Stephens’ cross. Charlton side lie second in the standings. Sheffield Wednesday travel to Charlton on Saturday while Sheffield United entertain Bury.

Last season’s surprise package Bournemouth followed up a midweek home defeat to West Brom with another loss at Dean Court as Ryan Jarvis’ double helped Walsall secure a 2-0 victory.

Brentford also fell to a 2-0 home defeat this afternoon as Robbie Weir and Andy Robinson netted the all-important goals for Tranmere. Colchester romped to a 4-1 home victory against Oldham to secure the day’s biggest victory.

Anthony Wordsworth broke the deadlock in the opening minute, before Reuben Reid equalised for the visitors.

However, a Wordsworth penalty deep in first time stoppage time was complemented by further goals from Matt Heath and Ian Henderson.

Huddersfield secured a 3-0 win against Wycombe thanks to Alan Lee’s double and a Gary Roberts goal, while Exeter recovered from their midweek defeat to Liverpool to grab three points.
