The 20-year-old, on loan from Barnsley, has only played seven times in Chesterfield colours but says he knows this afternoon’s clash with Mansfield is a big one.

When asked if any of the coaches had explained the game’s importance to him, the striker-turned-winger replied: “They haven’t really had to tell me anything about it because you just know it’s a massive game.

“With the league position, every game is a massive game.

“We want three points from every game but especially this weekend, if we got the victory it would be even better.”

The last time Brown and the Spireites played at the Proact was another big occasion, against Notts County in front of the Sky cameras.

On that day they shocked the Magpies with a 3-1 win.

He says it’s games like this that require a top performance.

“Although every game coming up is big, big pressure games like this are the ones you need to react best in,” he said.

“The pressure is on and you need to perform at your best.”

Chesterfield and Mansfield kick off at 1pm today at the Proact Stadium.
