Blades face strike threat

SCUNTHORPE United - Sheffield United’s opponents on Saturday - may be labouring at the wrong end of the table. But in terms of potential, the Blades need to watch out for some latent firepower.

Football League statistics place the Iron as the most prolific team in terms of shots in and around their opponent’s goal. In six matches, the 19th-placed Iron have smashed 54 on target and 49 off, ahead of other sharpshooters Notts County and league leaders MK Dons. Scunthorpe have hit the woodwork five times, too.

Thankfully for the Blades, the home side will be without 21-year-old forward Bobby Grant on Saturday, he is suspended.

However Iron boss Alan Knill has been running the rule over Norwich striker Oly Johnson in training. If he likes what he sees, he hopes to sign him.
