Handsworth moved three points clear at the top of the Baris NCEL Division One table after a 1-0 win at Askern Villa last night.

Scott Bates hit the winner on the half hour mark to give Handsworth a fourth league win on the spin.

Dinnington Town continued their revival with a 2-0 win at Louth Town as Steve Toyne’s side made it four without defeat in all competitions.

Danny McKenzie got the finishing touch to a free-kick to give Town the lead a minute before the break. Danny Reet added the second with a stunning 30-yard strike on the hour mark.

Parkgate crashed out of the FA Cup, losing 2-0 in their Preliminary Round replay at Hall Road Rangers. But Staveley Miners Welfare won their replay beating Evo-Stik League side Goole AFC 3-1.

A Simon Barraclough brace had the Miners in front at the interval with Chris Coy sealing the tie with the third on 63 minutes to earn Staveley an away trip to either Liversedge or Pickering Town.

In the Baris League Cup Second Round Worsbrough Bridge Athletic saw off Rossington Main 3-2.
