Barnsley continue to rejig their squad during the January transfer window following Jordan Green's move to Newport.

The 24-year-old winger has failed to make the step up to Championship level and has made just two appearances this term.

He has not featured since Daniel Stendel left the club in October and heads to the League Two side until the end of the season in search of regular football.

Green said: “I am delighted to sign.

“This opportunity will give me a great chance for regular football and hopefully help push the club up the table.

“I'd describe myself as a tricky winger.

“I like to use my speed and control to beat players and get the ball forwards.

“I can't wait to get going.”

Exiles manager Michael Flynn added: “I've said that I want to bring more creativity and pace in and Jordan has got that in abundance.

“He had a very good spell at Yeovil before he got his move to Barnsley."

Green was also attracting interest from Scotland where Stendel, now in charge of Hearts, was keen to bring him in.

But it is south Wales that he is heading for, becoming the second player to leave Oakwell this month, following the exit of Cameron McGeehan to Portsmouth.

Mallik Wilks and Dimitri Cavare are other players who look set to move on this month as boss Gerhard Struber continues to shape his squad.

The Austrian has already brought two players in, with Marcel Ritzmaier and Kilian Ludewig joining this month.
