He said: “I can tell that the gaffer likes to get on the ball and get his team to pass the ball, that’s the impression I get.

“I’ve spoken to Brad Collins and Victor Adeboyejo, who I know, and they’ve said that the gaffer likes to get the ball on the floor and that’s how I want to play as well.

“I like to think that I’m athletic and good on the ball, I like to pass out and maybe nick a goal here or there, and hopefully the fans will see that in the future.

“I can play right-back or centre-back – wherever the gaffer wants me to play.”

He is the sixth summer signing ahead of the club's return to the Championship, following Luke Thomas, Brad Collins, Mads Andersen, Samuel Radlinger and Mike Bahre into the club.

He played 31 times for the Dons last season as they avoided the drop from League One and scored the winning goal in the FA Cup success over West Ham.
