The German midfielder has played all three games under new boss Gerhard Struber and scored a fine second goal in Saturday's 3-1 win over Hull.

It is a return to the team after being frozen out under the caretaker stewardship of Adam Murray, who did not use him in five matches.

Before that he was a regular in the side under Daniel Stendel, the man who brought him to the club from Hannover in 2018.

A new era has brought a new chance for the 24-year-old and he is keen to take it.

“I’m buzzing to be back in the team," he said. "I’ve not been playing for a while but with the new manager I’m back in the team.

“I believe I’ve showed some good performances and I’m glad I scored the goal, but most importantly I’m happy to help the team get the three points against Hull.”

Given he has been selected in his first three teams, it is no surprise that Bahre is impressed with Struber's methods so far.

They will have had a full week on the training ground ahead of Saturday's trip to Cardiff and is expecting further improvements.

“Everyone can see how he wants to play; he’s been brilliant so far.

“He knows exactly what he wants us to do both in possession and off the ball.

“When we’ve had more training sessions with him, we are definitely going to be better.”
