Ipswich manager Paul Jewell admitted his side’s 1-1 npower Championship draw against Barnsley felt like a defeat after they conceded late into the game.
A poor match came to life when substitute Jason Scotland put the Tractor Boys on course for a fourth straight win in the 82nd minute at Oakwell.
But they were left heartbroken after a stoppage-time leveller from Jacob Mellis denied Jewell’s side all three points.
Barnsley had the better of a dull encounter - forcing a string of saves from goalkeeper Marton Fulop - but Jewell felt he had no reason to be upbeat after letting their lead slip.
“It feels like a defeat when you concede a goal so late like that and in that manner, a deflection,” he said.
“It’s hard to take and we take no positives out of the game - we feel sick.”
