The last match of the season is upon us, and the Sheffield clubs will probably want to get them over with quickly.

It’s been a grim campaign for both but at least they have the consolation of resuming the Steel City derby next year. There’s been a lot of interest in the season match bet that we put up about which club would finish highest. We went 6/5 about Wednesday and 8/13 about the Blades and we soon got bowled over by punters backing Megson’s boys. We have been forced to go 11/10 now on them and 4/6 United.

Anyway if you are thinking of backing United to go out with a bang against Swansea then forget it. We are best priced at 11/2 - we don’t think they have a prayer. I’m not sure the Owls will have it all their own way at home to Exeter City, either. You can back them at 17/20 but that looks poor value, as Exeter have been in decent form of late. In fact the 3/1 on them looks big; I’d be wanting a piece of that. They beat the Owls 5-1 earlier in the season and that suggests everything. It’s a nothing game so take care but I think Exeter have every chance. Their manager Paul Tisdale would love the chance to beat Gary Megson on his patch.

Donny and Barnsley probably can’t wait for the season to end too. Donny feature in my bet of the week but not for the right reasons. I was impressed by Boro at Cardiff; at 8/11 they must be backed. Boro will be a force next season and aim to go out in style. I can only see one result.
