Beleaguered Ipswich boss Paul Jewell has vowed to take inspiration from Barnsley’s remarkable surge up the Championship table ahead of his side’s trip to this evening Oakwell.
The Tractor Boys head north on the back of seven defeats in a row, but Jewell is adamant he can emulate the turn-around his counterpart Keith Hill has achieved with the Tykes.
Jewell, whose side sit one place above the bottom three, said: “We know we’re in a difficult situation but it’s one we can get out of.
“We have shown we can go on a run ourselves and we will go to Barnsley believing we can win, just like we do in any game in this league.
“To see what Barnsley have achieved and Burnley recently as well, it shows what a run of three or four wins can do in this league.”
Jewell does not expect any more injury worries for the trip to face a Barnsley side who go into the game on the back of four straight league wins after their midweek success against Crystal Palace.
