Barnsley boss David Flitcroft cast his eye over a trialist yesterday at the team’s training camp in Spain.
And Flitcroft admitted he would be trying to look at two more trialists before the Reds return home from La Cala on Sunday.
“We’re looking at a few,” revealed Flitcroft. “It’s foot to the floor in terms of recruitment. I’ve always got one eye on that.
“Every manager is after the perfect jigsaw. We’re trying to build on, but you have to keep looking to build that jigsaw.”
And the Reds boss has been delighted with the effort and commitment of his players, despite having to endure punishing training sessions in the sun.
“Since I took over six months ago I’ve been delighted with the application of the players - and that’s all you can ask for,” added Flitcroft.
“I’m someone who loves work. I think it’s my duty as a person to breed that culture.
“We’ve changed the culture at the club, there’s no doubt about that. There’s been a culture swing.
“The facilities have been great at the training camp. It buzzes you up every day.
“The heat has got up the last couple of days so we’ve had to look at our training times.
“But I’ve been delighted by the commitment and application of the players.
