MANCHESTER City midfielder Gai Assulin is due to sign for Barnsley on loan today.
The Israel international, 20, has struggled to force his way into the Premier side this season and has agreed a deal to join the Reds on loan until January 3.
Reds boss Keith Hill said: “Assulin can unlock doors, he’s a creative player and a great addition to our squad. He’s a very clever player and has a very good football brain. He’s quick, but his pace is in his brain. I’m trying to improve the squad and getting Gai and Nile Ranger is healthy competition for places.
“We carry no passengers this season, but these two lads have plenty of quality. They’ll do well for us.”
Hill tried to get Assulin, who started his career with Barcelona, earlier this season, but a deal couldn’t be done.
