BARNSLEY are celebrating a string of new sponsorship deals for next season.

The Star can exclusively reveal the Oakwell club have agreed a new three-year undisclosed six-figure deal with CK Beckett to become their official principal sponsor and shirt sponsor.

Electrical and industrial dismantlers CK Beckett, who currently sponsor the club’s South Stand, will replace the Barnsley Building Society as the club’s principal and shirt sponsor on June 1.

The Barnsley Building Building’s three-year deal comes to an end after this season and so CK Beckett, whose first major involvement with the club was in 2008 when they sponsored the shorts for the FA Cup semi-final against Cardiff City at Wembley Stadium, were happy to extend their commitment to the club.

“For the past three years CK Beckett have become an integral part of Barnsley Football Club, so we’re delighted to see them increase their involvement even further,” Reds director Don Rowing told The Star.

“To have a local Barnsley company become the club’s principal sponsor is excellent news and I hope that other local companies will follow suit and see the value of aligning themselves with us.”

Chris Beckett, of CK Beckett, added: “When the club informed us that Barnsley Building Society’s sponsorship was coming to an end there was no hesitation in my mind taking the next step in confirming that we would like our name on the front of all the shirts.”

The Star can also confirm that next season’s official kit supplier will be Nike, who have agreed a four-year undisclosed six-figure deal with the club. The iconic brand, the world’s largest in sportswear, will replace Lotto as the club’s official kit supplier.

“This deal comes at a great time for the club,” added Rowing. “Nike is a world renowned brand and one that customers trust to deliver quality and style.

“With a new club sponsor on board and the refit of our Superstore, we will be able to better provide a better product for our supporters to wear.”

And as well having signed new deals with CK Beckett and Nike, the club have also agreed new deals with local car dealership Perrys and local businesses Dimensions Hairdressing and Scaffold Services UK Limited.
