KEITH Hill has revealed that influential midfielder David Perkins will definitely miss the club’s trip to Portsmouth on October 15.
The Barnsley boss revealed: “Perks is definitely not going to be ready for that one, he’s going to need more time to recover from his injury.”
Former Colchester United, Morecambe and Rochdale midfielder Perkins limped off with a hamstring injury in the Reds’ 1-1 away draw with Derby County last week.
And the 29-year-old could be out for between 3-4 weeks depending on how well his rehabilitation progresses during the current international break.
“It’s a shame for Perks because he’s done really well, but he’s likely to be out for at least three weeks,” confirmed Hill. “But Nathan Doyle got a chance because of his injury and came in and did a really good job against Coventry at the weekend.
“Nathan’s had to be patient for his chance, but I was pleased with the way he performed.
“He was excellent.”
