BLACKPOOL are believed to be leading the race to secure the signature of Barnsley's sought-after winger Adam Hammill.

A high-ranking source at Oakwell has revealed exclusively to The Star that a deal could be signed today.

And Hammill coud be on his way for the 500,000 buy-out clause which he had put in his contract when he first signed for the South Yorkshire club.

"It looks like Adam's going to be leaving the club this week," said the source.

"It's just a case of whether the club in question put up the whole amount of money up front."

Blackpool, Wolves and Notts Forest have all tabled official bids for the former Liverpool winger who has dazzled at time this season and scored eight goals.
