JAMES McNulty is ready to hit the ground running for Barnsley next season.
The former Brighton left-back signed a two-year deal at Oakwell last month.
A former Liverpool and Everton youth-team player, has had no problems settling in, because he already knew three of the Reds squad.
“I know Matt Done from my time at Wrexham, Craig Davies from my time from Brighton and Stockport, and Jay McEveley from when we were young lads at Everton,” revealed McNulty, aged 26.
“It is a bit like moving school - new faces and everything - but I’m sure it will be fine.
“To stay playing in the Championship was a big thing for me. I had a taste of it last season [with Scunthorpe] and I wanted to keep playing at this level.”
He also said: “You get to know a lot of other footballers in the game and hear about man-management, I’ve always heard good things about Keith Hill. He attracted me here. Barnsley’s a big, big club.
n Barnsley’s away match with Portsmouth on Saturday’s October 15 will now kick off at 5.20pm for Sky TVcoverage.
