YOUNG players will get their chance to shine at Barnsley next season, but new manager Keith Hill has warned some at the club they aren’t quite ready to be thrown in at the deep end.
Asked for his assessment of some of the teenage talent at Oakwell, Hill said: “These youngsters have got to be part and parcel of everything we’re trying to achieve at Barnsley.
“They’re integral to the development and the long-term future of the club. But some of them are probably not right for now. They will be right for some part of this coming season, the talent is there.
“They’ve got to grasp the moment. It might be at 17 or they might be 18, but once you’ve made your first-team debut it doesn’t mean you’re an established professional.”
