Hills make Blades a 15/8 shot to go down

Have your say

Sheffield United have dropped into the bottom three having taken just two points from their last seven matches and they’ve been cut to just 15/8 with William Hill for relegation as a result.

Tomorrow’s hosts Ipswich are Betdaq’s 2.0 (even money) favourites to take all three points. Micky Adams’ side are 7/2 underdogs at Ladbrokes and Victor Chandler chalk 5/2 against a draw, a wager that could attract some punters given that United shared the spoils in their last away match, at Coventry.

That one finished goalless, a result that is 10/1 (Coral) to be replicated while fans feeling optimistic enough to back the Blades can protect against the stalemate with Stan James, who offer them at 2/1 in their ‘Draw No Bet’ market.

Sheffield Wednesday’s 5-3 defeat at Peterborough resulted in the departure of manager Alan Irvine and in the early betting, Victor Chandler quote the two Garys, Megson and Johnson, at 6/4 and 9/4 respectively to take over. Caretaker duo Rob Kelly and Billy Barr are even money courtesy of Partybets to preside over a much-needed victory over MK Dons at Hillsborough.

Betfred offer 12/5 for a draw and in line with recent high-scoring Owls games, those fancying an inconclusive contest might lean towards a 2-2 scoreline, available with the same firm at 14/1.

Barnsley are chunky 6/1 outsiders with Victor Chandler to collect a maximum haul at Leicester, but a draw (16/5, 888Sport) would be a satisfactory result for Mark Robins’ troops at the Walkers Stadium. Also unfancied are Doncaster, a 10/3 chance to beat Millwall at the New Den, where Betdaq chalk up the draw at 3.5 (5/2).

Finally in League Two, at the b2net Stadium, leaders Chesterfield are 5/6 with William Hill to send Aldershot home empty-handed and Totesport make a Rotherham victory 5/4 as the Millers entertain Crewe.
