REDS boss Keith Hill still appears to be in no particular rush to appoint a club captain.

Last season Jason Shackell did the job but he has moved to Championship rivals Derby County.

In the Reds’ two major pre-season friendlies so far against Hartlepool and Grimsby, Rob Edwards and Stephen Foster have worn the armband, but no decision has yet been made on who will get the skipper’s nod permanently.

Hill said: “I’m just looking for 11 leaders really. There were a lot of captains I played with who didn’t wear the armband. In that sense it’s not really important. What is important is winning.”

Barnsley will hope to extend their pre-season winning streak tonight against Sheffield Wednesday at Oakwel (7.30).
