BARNSLEY skipper Jacob Butterfield would be ‘incredibly proud’ if he won his first international cap tonight for England Under-21s.
Butterfield is part of a 25-man squad ready for their European Championship qualification double-header against Iceland and, four days later, Belgium.
“It’s going to be a good experience for me, I’m really looking forward to it,” said Butterfield, 21.
“The lads have been really happy for me and have said to me I’ve always been capable of getting recognition, it’s now up to me to show everyone.”
Butterfield tweeted yesterday: “Took 2 penalties in training.. 1 with left foot 1 with the right.. Just to show off!”
