Barnsley have signed defender Aidy White on a one-year deal.

Left-back White penned a short-term deal with the Reds last season having been released by Rotherham United.

And today the 24-year-old, who played 29 times last term for the Reds as they won promotion back to the Championship, signed a new contract to stay ay Oakwell until June 2017.

White started his career with Leeds United and spent a loan spell at Sheffield United three seasons ago.

He joins winger Adam Hammill as the only other player to have signed a new contract at the South Yorkshire club this summer.

Defenders George Williams and George Smith both had their deals pulled.
