STRIKER Marlon Harewood - who scored a hat-trick for Sheffield Wednesday in a pre-season trial at Kilmarnock last week - signed a one year deal with Barnsley today.
The 32-year-old has had a varied career at teams including West Ham United Aston Villa Wolverhampton Wanderers Newcastle United Blackpool and Nottingham Forest.
The Londoner was snapped up following an injury to Egyptian striker Mido, who is expected to be sidelined for as long as three months with a hamstring inury.
The Star understands Harewood has joined the Reds on much reduced terms to those agreed when he first signed for the club on loan in February 2011.
The Reds also have a number of other key players missing with injuries to goalkeeper Luke Steele and wingers Jim O’Brien and Toni Silva.
