BARNSLEY’S hunt for a new manager goes on after Sean O’Driscoll rejected their overtures last night.

The former Doncaster Rovers and Nottingham Forest boss met with the Reds board over the weekend but has turned down the vacant managerial post at Oakwell.

In a statement, he said: “Given the extremely disappointing and sudden nature of my departure from Forest, I’ve respectfully declined the opportunity to become Barnsley’s next manager.”

Barnsley, meanwhile, have accepted a six-figure bid for Scott Wiseman from Blackpool while striker Craig Davies move to Bolton is set to be finalised today.
