BARNSLEY: Reds warned off defender Gordon Greer

Have your say

BRIGHTON and Hove Albion boss Gus Poyet has slapped a firm ‘hands off’ notice on Barnsley target Gordon Greer.

The 31-year-old Albion defender was reportedly the subject of a five-figure offer from the Reds at the end of last week, but any hopes of a potential move to Oakwell now appear to be very slim.

Poyet said: “We are not surprised by anything, but this is certainly not an issue - it’s not a problem because Gordon is not for sale.

“We can’t even talk about it until something massive comes in for someone, something that is incredible and we cannot reject.

Former Reds centre-back Luke Potter has turned his attention to playing cricket after being forced to retire from football last season due to a persistent knee injury. The 22-year-old has signed for Drakes Huddersfield League outfit Hoylandswaine.
