THE Star understands that Barnsley are set to offer at least four players new contracts at Oakwell.

Midfielder David Perkins and youngsters John Stones and Paul Digby have all extended their deals with the Championship outfit.

And in the next few weeks more players are set to be offer contracts, with manager Keith Hill keen to retain his best players.

Stephen Dawson, meanwhile, is in contention to make his first start of the season at Brighton this afternoon. He is likely to fill in for Perkins, who sustained a hamstring problem in the midweek loss to Wolves.
