BOBBY Hassell is confident Barnsley will reap the results their recent performances deserve.

The club stalwart was frustrated with Saturday’s defeat to Leeds United, especially as the Reds had plenty of chances to earn themselves a point. But looking to the future Hassell predicted:”Results aren’t tallying our performances at the minute, but they will come. I’d say this is the best football we’ve been playing in the last four or five years. But we’ve just got to turn it around now and get results.

“You would think sooner or later, with the way we’re playing, we’re going to get the results we’re looking for.

“Away from home we can play a bit more because I don’t think teams are giving us enough respect, but it’s more difficult at home because teams are sitting off us. Our results are away from home haven’t been great, but performance-wise they’ve been good and we’re getting closer.

“The gaffer’s [Keith Hill] never going to change, he loves playing football the right way and so do we. If we’d taken our chances then we could have beaten Leeds 5-0 like we did against Birmingham.”

Meanwhile, the Reds’ leading scorer Craig Davies ihas been called up to the Wales national side. But Reds’ director Don Rowing said: “We’ve had no offers for Craig, nor for John Stones. They’re both having good seasons.”
