Brad Potts wants Barnsley to back up their Bristol City performance when they head to Nottingham Forest today.
It was Good Friday heartache for the Reds at Oakwell as former Barnsley man Josh Brownhill dealt them a relegation blow with a stoppage-time equaliser.
It became doubly disappointing for Jose Morais’ Championship outfit as drop rivals Birmingham City won the following day.
Barnsley now find themselves two points adrift of safety and in need of a win.
Potts admitted: “I’m sure if we play how we did on Friday (2-2) then we’ll give ourselves a really good chance of staying up.
“If we didn’t believe we could stay up then there would be no point going into games.
“We know if we play well then we will give ourselves a really good chance.
“It doesn’t matter who plays as long as we, as a team, get the results we need.
“If we can win on Monday it turns the Bristol City game into a good point.
“It’s been a quick turnaround. We need to go again and we need to pick up three points.”
Kieffer Moore is a doubt after coming off late on Friday with cramp.
The Reds are hopeful the physical striker will be fit after a dominant display against Lee Johnson’s Robins.
Potts added: “He’s an important player for us.
“You’ve seen him recently, he’s a big handful. You know when the ball goes up, he’s going to win it for us and hold it up.”
The Reds picked up three points against Forest in the reverse fixture at Oakwell earlier in the season.
And completing the double would go a long way to helping them stay up.
The players now have just seven games to secure their second-tier status after a tough season on and off the pitch.
Forest have been hard to beat recently, with their Good Friday defeat to Millwall ending a seven-game unbeaten run.
Before that, they lost four in a row as new boss Aitor Karanka bedded himself in at the club.
The Reds will be hoping Forest’s Friday loss could be the start of yet another losing streak for Karanka’s men.
Manager Morais insists Barnsley need to get the little things right today.
He said: “The game is sometimes about small details and small details are very important against opponents with quality.
“I want to create good performances, like we saw on Friday.
“This is what I want here and I believe I can create it.”
