The Blades are now are deep in the mire. We are now 1/2 that they go down and 6/4 that they manage to stay up.
They host Derby County on Saturday and it’ll be nice to play a team in worse form than themselves. It’s hard to back anyone in this one, but my hunch is that the Blades will win. Derby are there for the taking. At 11/8 that might appeal to some. Micky Adams was fuming with the performance at Scunny - expect them to come out firing on Saturday.
The Owls had a decent point against Bournemouth. Are they on the way back? Well, we are now a best priced 25/1 that they get promoted, so if you still feel confident then get stuck in.
It is also 5/1 that they finish in the top 6. Mischievous Blades fans will want to back them to go down of course, but that does look unlikely, with that price now at 25/1. They are going to have to win at least 10 of their last 16 matches to go up so Gary Megson has work to do. They are 2/1 to start the ball rolling at Carlisle on Saturday.
At Doncaster, even Sean O’Driscoll has been backed to be the next Championship manager to leave his post. He is still 12/1 though because it is unlikely to happen. He is well respected with a big compensation tag on his head so they’d be daft to get rid of him. Yes Donny are having a blip but O’Driscoll will not be going anywhere soon. Micky Adams by the way is 8/1!
Barnsley entertain Norwich on Saturday and their price of 2/1 looks pretty tempting.
