The striker missed Tuesday's 2-0 defeat at Birmingham with a knock he picked up in last Saturday's 2-2 draw with Charlton.

He struggled in training on Monday and then failed a fitness test on the morning of the St Andrew's loss.

But Stendel says the injury is not serious and he will be available for Luton's trip to Oakwell.

Cauley Woodrow had a little injury after Saturday, normally he could play but training yesterday he said he could not play and again on the morning he struggled,” the German said.

“We are a little bit disappointed, but this is the game. I think he can play Saturday, it was too short a time for Birmingham.”

Woodrow was absent as the Reds went down to two goals in the final 25 minutes, leaving them nine games without an away win at Championship level.

Lucas Jutkiewicz and Candela Alvaro Gimenez scored for Blues to leave Stendel frustrated.

“Until the first goal we played a good away game and Birmingham didn’t really have chances,” he added.

“It was difficult for us to create chances but we had two good situations in the second half.

“In the second half we played better and I thought we had the chance to win the game but we presented a goal and that made it difficult to win.

“It was very hard to see us present them a chance which made it a different game – it was very frustrating.”
