Engine problem for Doncaster rider Dean Hipwell

DONCASTER’S Dean Hipwell blamed engine problems with his Globalnet Telecoms Yamaha for his failure to finish higher than 15th in Bank Holiday Monday’s British Supersport Championship round at Oulton Park.

The CDH Racing Team rider complained after the third round of the Championship that his machine was at least five miles per hour slower than normal and his back-up team will be hoping to resolve the problem ahead of the next round at Snetterton at the end of the month.

Hipwell was 16th behind the Yamaha of Deane Brown for the next seven laps unable to make any headway into his one second advantage Brown crashed out on the tenth lap which resulted in the race being red flagged elevating Hipwell into 15th.
