FOLLOWING the postponement of last Saturday’s card due to snow, Doncaster will attempt to host the same programme this coming Saturday, with a scheduled first-race time of 1.30pm.

The William Hill Lincoln Handicap – a Heritage Handicap over the straight mile which is traditionally the first major race of the new Flat season – will offer £100,000 prize money. Last year’s winner, Brae Hill is one of the leading contenders, as he attempts to become the first horse to win back-to-back victories in the race since Babur achieved the feat in 1957 and 1958.

Saturday also features the Spring Mile – the £45,000 ‘consolation’ for horses eliminated from the big race, while the Cammidge Trophy, for sprinters over six furlongs, is named in honour of a former chairman of the course, the late Albert Cammidge.
