Doncaster Knights: Leicester Tigers teenager handed chance to impress

Leicester Tigers teenager Rhys Williams has been handed the chance to impress for Doncaster Knights against Moseley today.

Williams, who has featured for Leicester in the LV Cup, will start at centre in the continued absence of Mat Clark.

He was one of six Tigers dual-registered with the Knights and joined up with his Castle Park teammates for training this week.

Williams’ inclusion is one of four changes from the side that lost 24-12 at Championship leaders Bristol last weekend.

Riccardo Brugnara also returns to Castle Park from Welford Road to accompany Ben Hunter and Colin Quigley in the front row.

Tyler Hotson is back from international duty with Canada to start at lock.

While, at number eight, Alex Shaw makes his competitive return following a head injury suffered against Cornish Pirates.

Stephen Hihetah, who has joined on a trial basis from Yorkshire Carnegie, will be hoping to make an impact from the bench following an impressive debut at Bristol.

Knights are without injured trio Clark, Ross Davies, Andy Bulamakau and Jon Phelan, who is on international duty with Canada.

Doncaster have dropped to seventh in the standings, with three wins and three defeats from their opening six league fixtures.

Second bottom Moseley have just seven points to their name but Doncaster director of rugby Clive Griffiths has warned his squad not to underestimate the Midlanders.
