Davies looks to learn from Mido

Have your say

BARNSLEY striker Craig Davies is relishing the chance to learn from a player who has played at the highest level.

Egyptian Mido is the Reds’ marquee signing this season having been brought in on a free transfer by manager Keith Hill.

And having played for his country on a number of occasions, as well as in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur, Davies knows he can only learn from Mido.

“He’s [Mido] a good player to have and I’m looking forward to working with him,” said Davies ahead of this afternoon’s home friendly with West Brom at Oakwell.

“I’m sure he help me with my personal game and I can learn from him.

“I remember watching him years ago on TV playing for Tottenham and he was a great player.

“He’s got a lot to bring to the squad, especially the younger players. He seems like a top man.”

And Davies is also looking to pass on his knowledge of the Championship to young striker Danny Rose

“He’s [Danny] played a couple of times and he’s a good talent,” added Davies. “He listens and I do try and give him pointers on things.”
